How do I know the network of the mobile number in Berlin ?

Ok, i am new here in berlin and i am in the mobile network of e-plus. i am free of charge if i call another e-plus number. but the problem is, i dont know how i will know that a number is from e-plus or from another network. i dont want to call the network service because i only speak limited deutsch. please help
